The No. 9 Oregon Ducks once again leaned heavily on their nucleus of true freshmen during Saturday’s 42-6 win over Stanford.

The Ducks got off to a slow start but produced a dominant second-half performance that featured contributions from several first-year players.

“(Stanford) had some schematic changeups early in the game — stuff we hadn’t seen from them before,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning said. “We had to adapt to that and be able to adjust our call sheet based on that. And then our players just knew it was a long haul. We’ve talked about winning the fourth quarter and we won the fourth quarter. We didn’t win it last week. … I think it came together at the end for us.”

In total, 10 of Oregon’s scholarship players from the 2023 signing class saw playing time against the Cardinal. Iapani Laloulu, Matayo Uiagalelei, and Teitum Tuioti all played meaningful snaps while the game was still in balance.

It’s worth noting that five Oregon true freshman played their fifth game of the season on Saturday, meaning they will not be able to redshirt. There were also a handful of Ducks who played their fourth game of the year and will burn their redshirt if they feature again at any point during the regular season.

Here’s a rundown of which Ducks logged snaps in Week 5, based on the participation chart released by UO.

Season game totals for each of Oregon’s true freshmen are also included.
