Tuesday Ted Talk: Oregon Passes First Major Test in Win Over Penn State

Oregon is the talk of college football following their 30-24 win over Penn State in Week 5.
The game was littered with great performances as quarterback Dante Moore led the Ducks to their first signature win with him leading the offense. Talk continues to get louder nationally that this could be his only season as Oregon’s starter.
Head coach Dan Lanning learned a lot about his team, as they went into one of the most hostile environments that college football has to offer, and came away with the biggest road win of his tenure. The Penn State win will be compared to Oregon’s win over Ohio State last year, but it’s really not the same, because that game was at home.
Saturday’s win marked Oregon’s eighth win in program history over a top-three opponent, and the first on the road since defeating No. 3 Ohio State on September 11, 2021 in Columbus. The Ducks are now 11-0 all-time in Big Ten play.
On defense the Ducks got big games from Bear Alexander, Teitum Tuioti and Dillon Thieneman just to name a few. Oregon has continued to build quality depth in each year of Lanning’s tenure, and this year certainly looks like it’s on track to be the deepest team from top to bottom that he’s had.
