On Saturday Oregon continued its winning ways. The latest was a road trip to the Bay area in a win over Cal.

The Ducks won 42-24 and moved to a 7-1 record on the season. Oregon remains atop the Pac-12 rankings heading into another road contest this week.

With the win, Oregon remained at No. 8 in both polls this week.

The slow start at Cal quickly shifted with some big plays to start the second half. Many are calling it a ‘lackluster’ win but the Ducks did pull out another tough road victory.

“Once the second half began, the Ducks did not take their foot off the gas. Noah Whittington caught a 29-yard touchdown from Nix on Oregon’s first drive of the third quarter to push the lead to 28-10.

Cal attempted a 39-yard field goal on its next drive, but it was blocked by Oregon cornerback Christian Gonzalez. That play put the Golden Bears away for good.

The Ducks put the finishing touch on the victory late in the fourth quarter when Nix connected with fourth-year sophomore tight end Patrick Herbert for his first career touchdown.

Up next is Colorado who are currently the last place team in the Pac-12. The Buffs have a single win on the season over Cal, whom Oregon just played. That game is set for a 12:30 PM (PST) kickoff and will air on ESPN.
