Penn State practice update

The Penn State Nittany Lions held open practice on Wednesday, and as always, Blue White Illustrated was out in force to see it. Fitz will discuss what he observed on the defensive side of the football, and we’ll recap the offensive notes from yesterday. If you want to get the full, detailed report, subscribe to Blue White Illustrated and check out the notes on the offense and the notes on the defense from Wednesday night.

We’ll review which players were at practice, what we think of the team’s depth heading into the game, and more!

It’s been eight years since the Penn State football team went to the Big Ten Championship game and won in 2016 against Wisconsin. Franklin was not interested in discussing the potential program-wide benefits of winning the title again.

“Great opportunity, playing the number one team in the country. We’re excited about that. That’s what we control. That’s what we’re focused on, not focused on anything else. I mean, I understand the question, I appreciate the question, but we’re just focused on trying to beat the number one team in the country, Oregon, in Indianapolis, in the Big 10, and just totally focused on that, and not any of the other scenarios or discussions.”

We’ll discuss Franklin’s other comments that stood out from Wednesday evening.

However, we are interested in those discussions. Today, we’re breaking down the team’s chances to beat the top-ranked team in the country by discussing the matchups between Penn State and Oregon. We’ll discuss which players and matchups will help shape the game and what the Lions need to do to secure victory.
