Penn State wrestling seeks its 74th consecutive dual meet victory today when it hosts Lehigh at Rec Hall. The No. 1 Nittany Lions (2-0) are fresh off a 43-3 win over Drexel on Friday night. The Mountain Hawks, meanwhile, come to State College after losing to Pitt 21-15 on Friday in the Steel City.
Lehigh is without numerous starters, including standout Ryan Crookham, at the moment. So, while this matchup looked like it might be the best one of the non-conference tests of the season for the Nittany Lions. Instead, Cael Sanderson’s team will be heavily favored to win again.
“Yeah, it just seems like we haven’t competed in a while with just having the Thanksgiving weekend off,” Sanderson told the Penn State Sports Network on Friday night. “And so, yeah, we’re just excited to get back on the mat and just kind of get moving, just kind of work on some things that we saw from our first few weeks of wrestling. So yeah, we’re excited.”

Two questions for the Nittany Lions
Let’s start with this: What is the match of the day? As long as it takes place as we expect it to , No. 2 Luke Lilledahl vs. No. 4 Sheldon Seymour should be a fantastic bout to open the dual. Update: It will not. Seymour is out today. They split against each other a year ago. The Penn State wrestler won the regular season match. But, the Mountain Hawk beat him at nationals. Lilledahl will now wrestle Logan Wadle.
Question two is this: Will either of the two injured Nittany Lion starters return to action? Aaron Nagao has now missed one match at 141 and Josh Barr two at 197. If either/or cannot go, Cael Nasdeo and Connor Mirasola will be back in the lineup, respectively.
