We start with recruiting.

It was a busy weekend for the Nittany Lions. They hosted Class of 2023 four-star receiver Rodney Gallagher on Saturday. It was his latest visit to campus and he talked with BWI’s Ryan Snyder following it. Gallagher has also locked in four of his official visits. He’ll see West Virginia (June 3-5), Notre Dame (June 10-12), Oklahoma State (June 13-15) and Penn State (June 17-19).

Speaking of official visits, Pittsburgh Brashear four-star linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson now has one scheduled with Penn State, as well. He will be in town June 17-19 as well.

In other news, it was a good weekend for Penn State as it relates to the NFL Draft. Eight Nittany Lions were selected and numerous other ones signed undrafted free agent deals. That includes running back John Lovett, who agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers.

Quote of the day

“At about six in the morning, Coach [Paterno] came in and talked to us. And, it was pretty incredible. Actually, that didn’t happen. That doesn’t happen. And, he came and spoke to the team and he was like ‘hey, I’m sorry that this happened.’

“When this [being hired by Penn State] came to fruition, my roommates, my teammates, we still talked about that moment. Like, ‘oh man, remember we got caught in the lot.’ That is a very memorable game actually because of all that.”
