Penn State Nittany Lions football concludes the spring slate with Saturday afternoon’s Blue-White Game. Open to the general public for the first time in three years, this year’s game takes on slight modifications. For one, it won’t be Blue against White — rather offense versus defense. There will be full-contact periods and “thud” periods. Additionally, special teams will work in between the drives to allow PSU’s limited number of offensive linemen to rest.

Three Penn State players to watch during the Blue-White Game

Quarterback Drew Allar

On3 Consensus five-star quarterback Drew Allar has generated more interest and hype among fans than most recruits in recent memory. Contributing regularly on the field this fall seems like a long shot for Allar, but everyone inside Beaver Stadium this Saturday will be eager to get a first glimpse of who they hope is their quarterback of the future.

Defensive lineman Zane Durant

Early enrollee defensive tackle Zane Durant has been the talk of the spring on the defensive side of the ball. Much like Kalen King did last year, Durant has put in practice performances that have his coaches and teammates waxing lyrical about his ability. King made quite the first impression at the Blue-White practice last spring. Can Durant do the same?

Running back Nick Singleton

Singleton is another five-star freshman PSU fans can’t wait to see for the first time. Singleton became the first Penn State commit to win the Gatorade National Player of the Year award this offseason. At a position of distinct need for the Nittany Lions, it does seem plausible that Singleton could see plenty of action this fall. That should only make this Saturday more exciting for the blue and white faithful.
