It marked a second such nomination for Singleton, a five-star prospect.

Alongside defensive tackle Zane Durant, Singleton also earned praise from Penn State strength coach Chuck Losey earlier this week for his conduct in the weight room.

“Those two guys specifically, they’ve done some really good things ever since being on campus so I’m really pleased with them,” Losey said.

Nobody earned more recognition from the coaching staff than tight end Theo Johnson this winter.

While TEs coach Ty Howle has a smaller pool of players to select from than most, it’s certainly noteworthy that Johnson finished as the top competitor at tight end five times, including once more on Friday.

At quarterback, Christian Veilleux and Sean Clifford each took home three recognitions.

Keyvone Lee paced the running backs with three.

Wide receiver proved to be a competitive position group, with six different players earning acknolwdgement from Taylor Stubblefield. Malick Meiga was the only one to claim honors twice.

Caedan Wallace and Olu Fashanu split the honors along the offensive line with two nominations each.

Similarly, Zane Durant and Zuriah Fisher each claimed top honors twice at defensive line.

Curtis Jacobs and Jonathan Sutherland were the two top linebackers, each earning recognition twice from new defensive coordinator Manny Diaz.

At corner, Kalen King was the standout, winning a trio of top competitor awards.

Walk-on Sebastian Constantini was the only safety to get acknowledged twice by Anthony Poindexter.
