Penn State sets official visit with Georgia RB Cameron Wallace

Penn State has just two home games remaining on the 2022 schedule, beginning this weekend when they host Maryland. A tropical storm could impact the weather and overall recruiting turnout, but one notable visitor has already confirmed that he plans to attend in running back Cameron Wallace. Wallace posted on Twitter that he’ll be using one of his five official visits.
A Class of 2023 prospect from Montgomery County High School in Mount Vernon, Ga., Wallace earned an offer from the Nittany Lions just about a month ago on Oct. 13. Listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds, Wallace didn’t earn his first Division I scholarship offer until Sept. 21 when Washington State was the first school to make a move. Georgia Tech, Indiana, Michigan State and Vanderbilt also offered before Penn State. He’s now up to 13 offers total and the trip to Penn State will be his first this season.
Through nine games this season, Wallace has put up some very impressive stats, totaling 1,020 yards on 112 carries and 12 touchdowns. He’s averaging 9.1 yards per carry and 113.3 yards per game.

Penn State’s Class of 2023 currently has 20 players committed and ranks No. 12 overall in the On3 Consensus Team Rankings. The Nittany Lions hold one commitment already from running back London Montgomery. A four-star prospect from Scranton, Pa., Montgomery committed back in July but has missed the entire 2022 season after tearing his ACL in his final preseason game in August.
Wallace is currently the only 2023 prospect who has set an official visit to Penn State. South Florida wide receiver Edwin Joseph was the last prospect to take an official visit to Penn State in September.
