Penn State tweets of the day

We start with wrestling.

Michigan native and Penn State Class of 2023 commit Josh Barr has won his second title at the prestigious Fargo freestyle tournament. He did so by beating Pennsylvania native and Ohio State commit Rocco Welsh in Tuesday’s finals, 8-5.

“Penn State commit Josh Barr was on a collision course with Ohio State commit Rocco Welsh from the time Fargo brackets came out til their final on Tuesday afternoon, and the match lived up to the hype,” FloWrestling writes.

“Trailing late, Barr dug deep to knock off the #3 ranked wrestler in the country. This victory came a year after Barr beat Iowa commit Aiden Riggins in the 2021 Fargo finals.”

Barr is now headed to the Who’s Number One tournament. He’ll also look to win that event after falling last year at it to future teammate and Penn State Class of 2022 signee Levi Haines.

In other news, former Penn State tight end and UMASS All-American Adam Breneman is busy picking the players he’s most excited to see in college football this year. His 33rd such selection was Lions tight end Tyler Warren. He was used in a variety of ways last fall. That figures to be the case again this year. We’ll see what Mike Yurcich has up his sleeve this time around.

Finally, for this section, here’s a clip of Micah Parsons lifting a set of bleachers off the ground.

“I’m excited about our group. We got a long way to go. We’re a terrible defensive team. We haven’t done any defense at all this summer. You guys know that’s not who I am. We’ll get that corrected. But, we’re trying to work on our offense. We want to be able to score the ball next year. We’re trying to take our time and do that.”
