What jersey number will each Penn State summer enrollee wear? The picks are in for Trebor Pena, Matt Henderson, and more

Penn State football posted its first summer roster update last week when 10 Class of 2025 signees, plus two spring transfer portal additions, first enrolled in classes. Now, each has his first jersey number in blue and white.
You can see the full list below, along with where each newcomer weighed in upon getting to campus compared to where they were when announced as a signee:
What number will each Penn State transfer newcomer wear?
No. 8 WR Trebor Pena – 5-foot-10, 185 pounds
No. 24 Amare Campbell – 6-foot, 230 pounds
No Nittany Lion on offense wore No. 8 last year. Pena wore No. 2 at Syracuse, which is Liam Clifford’s longtime number, of course. So, he had to change to a different single-digit number. As for Campbell, he takes the No. 24 jersey of the player he essentially replaced on the roster, Ta’Mere Robinson, who left for USC this spring and created a need at linebacker for the Lions that the Virginia native ultimately filled.
What jersey assignment did the Class of 2025 newcomers get?
No. 75: Paramus, N.J. four-star offensive tackle Malachi Goodman: 6-foot-6, 321 pounds (up from 310 pounds)
No. 19: Warren, Ohio four-star edge Chaz Coleman: 6-foot-4, 235 pounds (up from 220 pounds)
No. 23: Montvale, N.J., four-star cornerback Jahmir Joseph: 6-foot, 178 pounds (down from 180 pounds)
No. 44: Powhatan, Va., four-star tight end Matt Henderson: 6-foot-5, 216 pounds (up from 215 pounds)
No. 80: Baltimore, Md., four-star receiver Jeff Exinor: 6-foot-1, 215 pounds (down from 220 pounds)

Lions247 first reported the newcomers’ jersey numbers. It goes without saying that Henderson taking the No. 44 jersey previously worn by unanimous All-American Tyler Warren is the one that stands out the most. The 6-foot-5, 246-pound tight end comes to Penn State with high expectations as a four-star and On300 member.
“I think his run-after-catch ability is also really encouraging,” On3 Scouting Director Charles Power previously told BWI. “When you look at the tight end position, and specifically when you look for skills to project, it’s certainly one of the tougher positions that we have to evaluate, just given the developmental track of tight ends. But I think as these tight ends get into college, what you really look for is the ability to separate at the top of their routes, strong ball skills and the ability to maximize yardage after the catch. I think Matt Henderson shows a lot of that.”
