The 5-10, 182-pound Cummings committed to Memphis when current Purdue defensive backs coach Charles Clark was the DB/safeties coach for the Tigers. Cummings tabbed the Tigers over the likes of Arkansas State, Cincinnati, among others.
A native of Starke, Fla. (Bradford High), Cummings is the fifth portal commitment for Purdue, joining Tulsa WR Corey Smith, Tulane OL Jude McCoskey, Bowling Green DL Marcus Moore and LB Sanders Ellis of Tennessee State.
