Purdue safety Sanoussi Kane became the second Boilermaker picked on Saturday, going in the 7th round (250th overall) to the Ravens.

Kane is the first Purdue player ever drafted by the Ravens. The last Boilermaker safety drafted was Ricardo Allen by the Falcons in 2014 (5th round).

RB Tyrone Tracy was picked in the 5th round by the Giants today.

Purdue has had at least two players picked in each of the last five drafts.

“I feel I can do a lot of things at the next level,” said Kane at Purdue’s pro day. “I started games at corner, I started games at safety, I started games in the box, I can pass rush if I need to. … Wherever they need me, I’m willing to play.”

A key piece in the Purdue defense each of the last two years, Kane closed his career in West Lafayette with 161 tackles and three forced fumbles. While Kane had the option to take advantage of a COVID season and play a fifth season of college football, he chose to declare for the NFL draft.

The Harlem, N.Y., native played all over the field at Purdue, starting games at corner, safety and inside the box at linebacker, but he likely projects as a safety in the NFL.
