PJ Williams talks taking over left tackle spot for SMU Football

2025 Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb defensive lineman Kamron Cullins announced his commitment to SMU on Sunday, he said on Twitter. The 6-2, 268-pound prospect is fresh off an unofficial visit to the Hilltop last week.

Now Cullins is a big land for SMU defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux. Cullins was offered by the Mustangs earlier this year and the program turned up the heat on him.

“The fact that it was Dallas, I always wanted to play football inside Texas since I was a kid. Other than that, really, Coach Thibs made it a little bit more easier with my decision,” Cullins told On3. “Then Coach Lashlee, his experience, his record as a head coach. They see me as a 3-tech.”

The All-Region selection held offers from the likes of FAU, East Carolina, Liberty, Maryland, Temple and other programs across the country.

SMU’s recruiting class sits inside the Top 25 in the country, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

With Cullins on board, SMU now has seven commitments in the 2025 recruiting class. He joins four-star Duncanville (Tex.) quarterback Keelon Russell, four-star DeSoto (Tex.) wide receiver Daylon Singleton, three-star Duncanville (Tex.) defensive back Javion Holiday, three-star Duncanville (Tex.) safety Tyren Polley, Arlington (Tex.) Mansfield Timberview defensive back Nathan Tilmon and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive back Elijah Pratt.
