How to watch SMU vs. Maryland

SMU is set for a big test against another undefeated team in Maryland on Saturday night. Watch the game at 6:30 p.m. CT on FS1, which you can stream here. Radio is available on The Ticket – KTCK 96.7 FM/1310 AM with pregame starting at 6 p.m.
The Mustangs are coming off a 45-16 win over Lamar in Week 2. SMU is now 27-10 since the start of 2019, giving them the most wins in the state of Texas during that span. SMU has won 14 straight regular-season, non-conference games, the most since a streak of 17 from 1979-85.
Michael Locksley is in his fourth season at the helm of Maryland football. Maryland is 2-0 to open the season, with wins over Buffalo and Charlotte. The Terrapins finished the 2021 season 7-6 and posted a 54-10 win over Virginia Tech in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.
SMU looking to return to form against Maryland
The Mustangs were sluggish against Lamar last week, despite winning by 29 points. SMU turned the ball over too many times and the defense missed enough tackles against the lowly Cardinals for concern going into a matchup against a high-powered Maryland offense.

“To be honest if every single game is the Super Bowl, then the Super Bowl isn’t that important,” SMU defensive coordinator Scott Symons said this week. “So, it’s natural for there to be a different level of urgency. It’s our job as a coaching staff to make sure that they are prepared. I think we played down a little bit, and I think that is what showed.”
Head coach Rhett Lashlee, in his first season at the helm of SMU, is expecting a tough test from Maryland. Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa is one of the nation’s top signal callers.
“I know Locks, he’ll have them ready to go. I know Lia (Taulia),” Lashlee said Wednesday. “I recruited him, remember him in high school, Tua’s little brother. He’s a really talented player. He can run, throw. He’s playing at a high level. They got three or four big-time wideouts, really good backs, good line. Offensively, they’re clicking. You can tell they really hit their stride last week.”
