Jahfari Harvey on the block heard round the world for SMU at Duke

SMU Edge Jahfari Harvey was the hero for SMU last Saturday after he blocked the potential game winning field goal for Duke. He spoke to the media on Wednesday to break down the big play.

When asked about the what went in to the “must block” play, Harvey said, “Coach Horney drew it up perfectly. He said before the game [that] we ain’t running it unless we need it. And then when it came down to it, we needed it, and made the play.”

Jahfari also talked about the mentality of the defense after making crucial stops in the fourth quarter: “That’s what defense is for. We got our brothers back, whenever, whatever the circumstance. No matter how many times things don’t go our way on offense, it’s our job to put the fire out.”
