Lone Star State DB Carter Stewart commits to Utah

Pearland (Tex.) Shadow Creek defensive back Carter Stewart has committed to Utah, he announced on Monday. His official visit sealed the deal with the 6-2, 175-pound prospect.
“Utah is a peaceful city, and it feels like a great fit for me, a place where I can keep my head down, focus, and just play ball,” Stewart told On3. “The team’s staff really believes in me and sees my potential to do something special within their defense.”
Utah defensive coordinator and safeties coach Morgan Scalley and cornerbacks coach Sharrieff Shah were key for Stewart.

“Coach Scally and Coach Shaw kept it real and straight forward with me,” Stewart said. “Scally has a strong track record of sending DB’s to the league, and I believe that if I buy into his system and put in the work, I’ll be one of those guys too. I’m highly grateful for the opportunity and ready to work.”
Stewart ranks as the No. 139 overall safety in the country and No. 197 prospect in Texas, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
