Moochie Dixon emerges as another SMU WR option

SMU wide receiver Moochie Dixon is a key to this offense now as Jordan Kerley is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Dixon stepped up last week with three receptions for 99 yards and a score against North Texas.
Check out the interview from Tuesday with the SMU wideout at the top of the page. Dixon is recovering from a finger injury that is improving week by week.
“It was hard. It was a struggle at first,” Dixon said. “But then you kind of get used to it and you’ve got your brothers beside you and they just back you up and everything, support you. It was a big moment for me. … I never knew how much you had to use those fingers until having to catch without them. I had to learn, I had them buddy-taped, so when I had them buddy-taped you kind of just let (the ball) hit your hand and you get your other and and throw it on there quick.”
SMU kicks off on Saturday against Memphis at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN2 looking to remain unbeaten in league play and move one step closer to an AAC Championship. The Mustangs are 8-2 on the year and are sitting unbeaten in the American Athletic Conference at 6-0.
