SMU Men's Basketball announces complete non-conference schedule

SMU Men’s Basketball announced the completion of its 2025-26 non-conference schedule on Tuesday. Head coach Andy Enfield has four straight SEC contests as a part of the slate.
In Enfield’s first season on the Hilltop, the Mustangs went 24-11 overall and earned a No. 1 seed in the NIT. SMU finished 13-7 in the program’s inaugural season in the ACC to tie for fourth, recording a 7-3 road record in league play.
Texas A&M is one of four SEC teams on SMU’s non-conference schedule for 2025-26. The Mustangs visit Mississippi State Nov. 28 and then Vanderbilt in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Dec. 3. The Aggies are next on Dec. 7 followed by the Compete 4 Cause Classic versus LSU in New Orleans on Dec. 13.
The Mustangs have nine home games before ACC play, including a return game with Butler on Nov. 15. The season opens at Moody Coliseum against Tarleton State on Nov. 3. SMU will host Oklahoma State in an exhibition on Oct. 25.

Below is a look at the completed non-conference schedule for SMU. Television times and channels are still to be determined.

SMU’s 18-game ACC schedule includes home and away games with Florida State and Louisville. The Mustangs will also host Boston College, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Virginia and Virginia Tech. The road-only contests are Cal, Clemson, Duke, Pitt, Stanford, Syracuse and Wake Forest. The Mustangs won’t face Georgia Tech. The 2026 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament will take place March 10-14 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
