On Monday, the kickoff time and TV coverage was revealed for SMU at TCU, the final Battle for the Iron Skillet. The game is set for 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 20 in Ft. Worth and will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2, the release said.

SMU is coming off a heartbreaking 48-45 loss to Baylor at home in overtime, dropping the Mustangs to 1-1 and outside the Top 25 in both polls. For Rhett Lashlee and the Mustangs, it was disappointing, yet they look to find out the resolve of their team over the next two weeks.

“We have to learn that you got to finish the job. This is a new team. This team can’t say, well, we finished in the past. No, this is a new team. We have to learn how to finish,” Lashlee said after the game. “Against a team with 16, 17 returning starters whatever, the number is they have, they showed that resilience and we didn’t finish the job. So we’ll respond well, if we want to have a good football team. All our goals are still there. I think we can have a good team. I think we’ll keep getting better as long as we stick together and we’ll see how we respond. This is really the first big moment of adversity for this year’s team.”

TCU dominated North Carolina, 48-14, in Week 1 and is coming off a bye week. Sonny Dykes’ Horned Frogs take on Abilene Christian on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT.

SMU heads up to Missouri State to face the Bears on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network.
