SMU hosts Stanford on Saturday as the Mustangs aim to start ACC play 2-0. The Cardinal, coming off a bye week, will try to shock the Mustangs. SMU will hope to have a smooth and healthy Saturday and head to Clemson next week undefeated in the ACC.

SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings is excited to have all of the skill position players at hid disposal on Saturday.

“Yeah, it’s been amazing. Just having that many guys out there who can make plays for me,” Jennings said. “We got J-Hud back, both the tight ends back. So it’s been really good just having all those guys out there. Just being able to distribute the ball to all of them and have them make plays for me, so it’s been really good.”

Spread for SMU vs Stanford

SMU is a 19.5-point favorite over Stanford with the over/under set at 55.5 points according to BetMGM.

SMU Head Coach Rhett Lashlee acknowledges Stanford’s ability to limit the run game.

“Yeah, I think they’re d-line, they’re big and they’re physical and they play the game the right way,” Lashlee said. “They’re d-tackles do a good job, I think, of shedding 1-on-1 blocks and splitting double teams and really being hard to move. If you can’t move the front, it makes it hard to be explosive. Think they’ve only given up 13 explosive runs this year, of 12 or more. That’s not a ton. Their ends, they’re big, they’re long, they play wide. They do a nice job of kind of edging the defense, if I’d say that.

SMU will try to keep its momentum in ACC play going with a win at 11:00 a.m. CT on Saturday.
