SMU vs. Syracuse: Odds, point spread updated, how to watch

The SMU Mustangs take on the Syracuse Orange Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. CT on ACC Network. Rhett Lashlee’s team is a heavy favorite, according to Bet MGM.
Currently, SMU is a 17.5-point favorite over Syracuse with the over/under set at 58.5 points. The Mustangs are favored by 9.5 points in the 1st half.
This is the second meeting between SMU and Syracuse. The teams only other meeting was in 1932 with the Mustangs defeating the Orange, 16-6.
SMU has won its last 17 conference regular-season contests dating back to 2022, which is tied with Oregon for the longest active streak in the nation. Lashlee hopes coming off a bye week with a healthier team will be a part of why the Mustangs get back in the win column.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to try to find a way to get a home win, go 1-0, sell out crowd against a good Syracuse team that went on the road to Clemson two weeks ago and beat them pretty good,” Lashlee said Tuesday. “Our guys are locked in and ready to go. Like I said, conference season gives us a chance for the kind of the meat of our schedule and the most important part. So we’re excited to get that started.”

For SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings, he’s ready to see the team rebound from its loss at TCU. The Mustangs are 2-2, but ready to try and keep their ACC success rolling.
“Yeah, it’s been really good. Just having the week off, going through walk-throughs and stuff like that,” Jennings said. “[It’s great] having the week off to get your body right and everybody right because we’ve been beat up quite a bit this year. So it’s been pretty good to go through it, watch film and get the recovery we need to go into the game this week.”
