South Carolina added another portal commitment ahead of the 2023 season, picking up utility man Caleb Denny.

Denny, who transferred from Oral Roberts, began his career with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Coming out of high school, he was the eighth-ranked player in the state of Oklahoma and No. 3 shortstop.

The left-handed hitter had an impressive 2022 campaign with Golden Eagles, slashing .331/.389/.565 with a career-high 11 home runs and 57 RBI. Denny will bring a lot of versatility to the Gamecocks, as he can play anywhere in the field besides catcher.

Denny becomes the fifth position player to transfer to South Carolina this offseason, joining Dylan Brewer, Chris Veach, Jonathan French and Jacob Compton.
