Steel Hands third annual training camp set to feature former Gamecocks

Training Camp is returning for year three at Steel Hands Brewing.
Presented by Hood Construction, this year’s event will be held on Saturday, August 12. It’ll feature a long list of former South Carolina, Clemson, and other local college football players competing in a series of events. The winners will take home the “Camp Champ” award.

The event is free to the public and will be held in an effort to raise money for Camp Cole. For every craft beer pint sold between 5-8 that night, Steel Hands will be donating a portion of the proceeds to Camp Cole and its mission to create “A Place to Shine” for children, teens and adults facing serious illnesses and other health or life challenges. There’s also some additional former USC players who could be joining the event. One of those players is hoping to be signed by an NFL team. Following the competition, there will be a meet and greet for fans to get autographs and photos with the former in attendance players. The event will be emceed by Gamecock Central’s Mike Uva.

Fans are recommend to arrive early to claim their spot in our outdoor beer gardens. The tap room will open at noon and there will be live music from 1-4 p.m. The competition will begin at 5 p.m.

Just this past weekend, the Garnet Trust announced that they have partnered with Steel Hands to create “Sandstorm Game Day Lager.” A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the Garnet Trust to support the Gamecocks efforts with NIL.
