Tennessee Football releasing four-star athlete Legend Bey from signing
Tennessee Football signee Legend Bey is no longer a Vol. Tennessee officials confirmed on Tuesday to Volquest that the four-star athlete has been release from his scholarship after he signed with the Vols on National Signing Day on December 3.
Bay officially submitted his request on Tuesday and was granted his release. He is expected to enroll at Ohio State in January.
Bey is the No. 191 overall prospect and No. 6 athlete in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 27 player in Texas.
The do-it-all 5-foot-10 blue-chipper saw interest from Ohio State ramp up this fall and he took an official visit to Columbus at the beginning of November. He flipped not long after. On National Signing Day, Bey flipped back and signed with Tennessee.

“It was a family decision,” Bey told Volquest on signing day. “There was a lot going on. Still had that relationship with coach (Josh Heupel) and I just felt like coming back home.”
The day after National Signing Day Bey posted a message on social media saying he didn’t want to be at Tennessee and that he had signed because of family pressure. He later deleted the post but the wheels were in motion for Bey to ultimately leave the Tennessee Football program.
Bey recently posted on social media photos and videos of him working out in Ohio State gear.
