ESPN’s College GameDay live from Knoxville

ESPN announced on Saturday night that College GameDay will be headed to Knoxville to broadcast live Saturday morning ahead of the Tennessee-Georgia showdown at Neyland Stadium.

The show will originate from the lawn in front of Ayres Hall on The Hill.

College GameDay has been to Knoxville two other times during the Josh Heupel era, for the wins over Florida and Georgia during the 2022 season. It’s the 12th time GameDay has been in town, dating back to a 30-27 win over Georgia in September 1995.

Tennessee opened as touchdown underdog vs. Georgia

The Vols on Sunday opened as a touchdown underdog for the Georgia game, according to BetMGM, but the line moved to 3.5 points by Monday night. The line was Georgia -4 on Friday afternoon.

Tennessee has lost eight straight in the Georgia series, dating back to the Jauan Jennings Hail Mary in the 34-31 win in Athens in 2016.

The Vols have failed to cover in their last six games against the Bulldogs and are 13-15-1 against the spread and 16-13 over/under dating back to 1995.

Tennessee was an 8.5-point underdog at Georgia last November, in the 31-17 loss at Sanford Stadium. The Vols were a nine-point home underdog in 2023 and a 19.5-point underdog in Knoxville in 2021, in the first season under Josh Heupel
