Tennessee Football lost offensive guard Wendell Moe to what appeared to be a leg injury at the end of the first touchdown drive for the Vols on Saturday afternoon against Vanderbilt.

Moe is out for the rest of the game according to Volquest’s Brent Hubbs and is wearing a boot on his right ankle after leaving the injury tent on the Tennessee sideline.

Moe, the 6-foot-2, 330-pound redshirt junior transfer from Arizona, received medical attention from trainers looking at his right leg after DeSean Bishop scored on a 2-yard touchdown run to give Tennessee a 7-0 lead with 3:49 left in the first quarter.

Vanderbilt matched Tennessee’s 12-play, 80-yard touchdown drive with a six-play, 75-yard touchdown drive of its own to tie the game. Sedrick Alexander ran 28 yards for the game-tying touchdown.

Tennessee went three-and-out on its first offensive possession, then went 80 yards for a touchdown after Edrees Farooq picked off Diego Pavia to ned the first Vanderbilt offensive possession.

Defensive lineman Jaxson Moi was slow to get up during Tennessee’s first defensive possession of the day and defensive back Jalen McMurray was slow to get up after a play on the second possession.

William Wright replaced McMuarry at the star position in Tennessee’s secondary after McMurray left the field.

Moe did not play in Tennessee’s 31-11 win at Florida last week due to a knee injury .He was available to play in an emergency situation, but he was never called on.

Umarov started in Moe’s place against the Gators, with Sam Pendleton at center, Lance Heard and David Sanders at the tackles and Jesse Perry at the other guard.

Tennessee looking to end Vandy’s College Football Playoff hopes

Tennessee could end Vanderbilt’s College Football Playoff hopes with a win on Saturday. But even a Vandy win at Neyland Stadium wouldn’t guarantee the Commodores a spot in the 12-team playoff bracket.

According to ESPN’s Playoff Predictor, Vanderbilt currently has an 11% chance to make the playoff, trailing 17 other teams.

A win at Tennessee on Saturday would give Vandy just a 27% chance to make the playoff, with a 23% chance to go on the road in the first round and just a 4% chance to host a playoff game.
