USC offensive lineman Bobby Haskins has signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent following the conclusion of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Haskins was at USC for just the 2022 season after spending the previous four at Virginia.

As a freshman in 2018, Haskins played in 13 games as a backup offensive tackle and on special teams. In 2019, he started 13 games for the Cavaliers. An offseason injury slowed him at the start of the 2020 season as he saw time in eight games as a reserve. He then started seven games at left tackle in 2021, earning All-ACC Honorable Mention.

Haskins was one of the big transfer additions that came to USC in Lincoln Riley’s first offseason with the program. He began the season battling Courtland Ford for the starting left tackle spot. Haskins assumed that role in the season’s third game with Ford out due to injury.

Haskins dealt with a shoulder injury throughout the season that sent him to the sidelines a couple different times. But he was a big piece of an offensive line that was a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, given to the nation’s best group up front. Haskins took 660 snaps at left tackle. He then was versatile enough to move over and start at right tackle for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic against Tulane. Haskins could stay at tackle or potentially move inside to guard at the next level.

Haskins to Chicago

The Bears took an offensive tackle with their first pick of the draft. Chicago went with Tennessee’s Darnell Wright with the No. 10 overall selection.

And it’s clear Chicago wants to see a number of different options along the line. The Bears signed Haskins along with three other offensive linemen as undrafted free agents. That group includes Nicholas Amoah from UC Davis, Lorenz Metz from Cincinnati and Gabe Houy from Pittsburgh.

Chicago also gave Buffalo offensive lineman Desmond Bessent an invite to rookie minicamp.
