Last month WeAreSC’s Rich Ruben wrote about future USC PG Isaiah Collier and PF Arrinten Page. They were featured on ESPNU on February 5 when Wheeler HS defeated Newton.

“Both landed inside the top 76 overall prospects in the recently updated 2023 On3 150 rankings. Collier is the No. 2 recruit there, but the No. 1 overall player in the country in the 2023 On3 Consensus.

Collier was tremendous. He scored 27 points and did it from everywhere, including outside from three. And his passing is tremendous. He had one-handed passes off the dribble and back door, three-quarter court lobs. Collier made it appear easy, making every pass imaginable. He drove hard to the rim and scored from mid-range.

The only question I’ve heard about him has been whether he has a consistent outside shot, but he looked very comfortable from outside in this game.

In his interview with ESPN after the game, Collier said he’s put plenty of work into that this year.

“It wasn’t falling the first half of the season,” Collier said of his jump shot. “When we stopped traveling, I really put all day in the gym really focusing on my jump shot. A lot of people started going under (screens), so I’m going to shoot it. And it’s been falling.”

Plus he is an elite ball handler, capable by himself to break most presses and finding open teammates when he faces double or triple teams.”

A glimpse of two future USC Trojans

I traveled to Atlanta last weekend for the Under Armour Next Camp in Carrollton (GA). So, I hit up Wheeler the night before to see Wheeler face North Gwinnett in the second round off the playoffs.

Ruben added this in his report published on February 7….

“Isaiah Collier will help the Trojans from the moment he arrives on campus. It’s harder to predict Arrinten Page’s impact as a freshman. In part, his playing time will depend on which of the current Trojan bigs return next season.”
