Colorado transfer guard J’Vonne Hadley has narrowed his list down to Louisville and USC, On3’s Joe Tipton has learned. He will make his commitment on Tuesday.

Hadley has one season of eligibility remaining after spending the past two years with the Buffaloes. This past season he averaged 11.6 points, 6.0 rebounds. 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game while starting in all 36 games. He helped lead Colorado to a No. 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament, where it advanced to the second round.

The decision comes as a bit of a surprise as it was reported earlier this week that Hadley met with both Iowa State and Michigan. Now it appears both teams are out of the running.

Hadley began his college career at Northeastern in 2020-21 before transferring to Indian Hills Community College the following season. He was named an NJCAA All-American that season after putting up 10.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 54.8% from the floor.

During his junior season he averaged 8.0 points and 5.9 rebounds for the Buffaloes.

He’ll offer whichever program gets him an elite shooting presence from the wing. He shot 41.7% from 3-point range this season.

Hadley played high school basketball at Cretin Derham-Hall High in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was not ranked in the 2022 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Louisville is coming off of a horrendous two-year stretch that saw it part ways with coach Kenny Payne this offseason. The Cardinals went a combined 12-52 and parted ways with Payne this offseason, bringing on College of Charleston coach Pat Kelsey to take over for Payne.

USC is also undergoing a coaching change with Eric Musselman coming in to replace Andy Enfield. The Trojans finished this past season 15-18 for their first losing record since 2018-19.

Hadley would certainly be a valuable addition for either team thanks to his size (6-foot-6, 200 pounds) and ability to impact the game in multiple ways. We’ll wait to see what his decision is come Tuesday.
