Penn transfer OL Jack Purcell commits to Duke
Penn transfer offensive lineman Jack Purcell has committed to Duke, he announced via social media. He spent the four years with the Quakers on the offensive line.
Purcell was Penn’s starting right tackle prior to entering the transfer portal, starting 12 games at the position in 2021 and eight in 2022. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Jack Purcell is the latest commitment out of the transfer portal for Duke under new head coach Manny Diaz. He is filling out both his coaching staff and his roster after taking over, and he recently landed his quarterback in Texas transfer Maalik Murphy, who committed last week.
In addition, Duke has filled both coordinator spots. Former SMU quarterbacks coach Jonathan Brewer is set to take over as offensive coordinator, and just this week, Diaz brought in Texas State’s Jonathan Patke as defensive coordinator. The Blue Devils also brought in former Louisiana offensive line coach Jeff Norrid, who was tagged in Purcell’s post when he announced his commitment.
