Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter has withdrawn from the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. The decision comes one day after he officially entered the portal.

Salter told On3’s Hayes Fawcett of his plans to transfer earlier this week after an impressive season at Liberty after taking over the starting job. He threw for 2,876 yards and 32 touchdowns to lead the Flames to a Conference USA title in their first year in the league, as well as a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Oregon.

On3’s Pete Nakos reported part of Salter’s decision to return to Liberty is his fit with the program. Prior to his withdrawal, Salter checked in as the No. 20-ranked transfer to enter the portal so far this cycle, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.

Kaidon Salter played high school football at Cedar Hill (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 146 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
