Ohio State transfer quarterback Kyle McCord will be visiting Nebraska this week, a source confirmed to On3 on Sunday morning.

The junior led the Buckeyes to an 11-1 season, the only loss coming to Michigan. Kyle McCord surprised the college football world last Monday, entering the transfer portal before dawn in Columbus. He finished the 2023 regular season completing 66.5% of his passes for 3170 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Nebraska has been aggressive since the 30-day transfer portal window opened, pulling out every stop to land a top quarterback. Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield met with McCord in Columbus this past week, setting the precursor for the upcoming visit.

The Huskers struggled at the quarterback position this offseason. Former Georgia Tech quarterback Jeff Sims never worked out, leaving Matt Rhule to turn to backups Chubba Purdy and Heinrich Haarberg. Landing McCord would deliver the Huskers an unquestionable starter.
