Louisville defensive lineman Jermayne Lole plans to enter his name into the transfer portal per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Lole spent the past two seasons as a member of the Cardinals’ program.

Lole started his career at Arizona State where he spent three seasons before transferring in to Louisville.

Lole has appeared in 40 career games with the Sun Devils and Cardinals. In total, he has tallied 141 tackles, 25 going for loss, and 12.5 sacks.

The start of Lole’s time at Louisville didn’t go well with him missing all but the first two games after a season-ending injury. However, he returned this fall and posted 19 tackles with 1.5 sacks. He also forced a fumble and deflected a pair of passes.

Lole played high school football at Long Beach Poly in California where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 815 overall recruit in the 2018 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as a Top-100 DL and Top-100 player out of his state.

Lole will be the latest loss for Louisville in the portal after losing 21 players in the previous cycle. A dozen of those were on the defensive side of the ball while five were fellow defensive linemen.

However, on the bright side, the Cardinals were the most successful program in the portal in terms of additions. They added 26 players that make up the No. 1 transfer class per On3’s 2024 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. That includes four in the Top-100 of On3’s 2024 College Football Transfer Portal Top Players with three of them – EDGE Tyler Baron, RB Peny Boone, and WR Caullin Lacy – in the Top-30.
