Marshall Thundering Herd defensive lineman Elijah Alston has committed to transfer to the Texas A&M Aggies.

Alston has been with the Thundering Herd since 2019. He took a redshirt during that 2019 season and gained an extra year of eligibility for the 2020 season and now has another one remaining. This past season, he was a key member of the defense that led Marshall to a 6-7 record this past season.

During his time at Marshall, Elijah Alston played in 38 games. He accumulated 107 tackles, 19.5 of which were tackles for loss. He also has 9.5 career sacks and an interception. That includes six sacks in 2023.

Elijah Alston played high school football at Oscar Smith (VA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 2,116 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

As a transfer, Elijah Alston was recruited by several Power Five schools, including Boston College, Georgia, and West Virginia.
