Former Ohio State forward Zed Key has revealed he’s committed to join Daytona for the 2024-2025 campaign via the NCAA Transfer Portal. Key spent the last four years with the Buckeyes and came mostly off the bench this past season.

Key’s biggest year at Ohio State came in 2022-23 when he averaged 10.8 points and 7.5 rebounds as he carved out a starting role. While he appeared in 36 games in 2023-24, he only started twice and largely contributed off the bench as the Buckeyes went 22-14 overall and 9-11 in Big Ten play.

Zed Key played high school basketball at Long Island Lutheran (NY), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 135 overall player from the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Kentucky transfer Aaron Bradshaw sets official visit to Ohio State

In other news, Kentucky transfer Aaron Bradshaw visited Ohio State this weekend. Bradshaw is a former five-star recruit who was ranked as the No. 4 overall player in the class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

Bradshaw played in 26 games and made 10 starts this past season. He averaged 4.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game.

The New Jersey native entered the transfer portal earlier this month after former Kentucky head coach John Calipari left for Arkansas.

Aaron Bradshaw scored in double figures seven times during his freshman season and earned an SEC Freshman of the Week honor. Arkansas is also believed to be in the mix to land the 7-foot-1 forward, but he will have plenty of suitors, including obviously Ohio State.

As for the Buckeyes, they finished 22-14 in 2023-24. Ohio State fired head coach Chris Holtmann in the middle of the season and replaced him with Jake Diebler. That moved paid off as Diebler went 8-3 down the stretch, reaching the quarterfinals of the NIT.

Diebler was then hired as the permanent head coach and is working on putting together his first recruiting class. Landing Aaron Bradshaw as a transfer would certainly be a huge win for Diebler.
