Transfer Portal News Of The Day December 19 - Dante Moore To Oregon

Ohio State transfer linebacker Reid Carrico has committed to West Virginia, he announced via social media. He entered the transfer portal earlier this month after three years with the Buckeyes.

Carrico made nine appearances this year for Ohio State, totaling one tackle as he struggled to crack the regular rotation. On the whole, in his three seasons, he had five total tackles — including three in two appearances as a freshman in 2021.

Carrico is the fourth player to commit to West Virginia out of the portal and the third on defense. Former Louisville safety Josh Minkins Jr. and former Colorado State safety T.J. Crandall are also in the fold, along with former Oklahoma State wide receiver Jaden Bray.

The Mountaineers put together quite the bounce-back year in 2023 and are heading to the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against North Carolina.

Reid Carrico played high school football at Ironton (OH), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 88 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
