Hailey Van Lith has plenty of interest in the transfer portal for her fifth college season. Now, another school in the Southeastern Conference will get the first chance to impress her.

Talia Goodman reported on Twitter on Friday that Van Lith will be going to Starkville to visit Mississippi State on Saturday. That’s according to a source speaking to The Next Hoops.

Van Lith spent the first three years of her career at Louisville before transferring to LSU this past year.

In total, Van Lith has appeared in 134 games, with all but one of those being starts, for the Cardinals and Tigers. During those outings, she has averaged 14.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals. In that time, she shot 41.3% from the field, 33.8% from three, and 84.5% from the free-throw line.

Van Lith went from Louisville to Baton Rouge last offseason to join the defending champions. She went on to start every game for the Tigers this year and averaged 11.6 points, 3.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. Her percentages took a hit, though, at a career-low of 37.8% overall and then 33.9% from three.

Van Lith had a decision to make after LSU lost to Iowa in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. She could have gone to the WNBA Draft, remained in the bayou, or gone elsewhere for college. She went with that final choice with her name not appearing on the list for the draft and the following reports that she’d be heading to the portal again.

Van Lith has been one of the top players in the country in her collegiate career. The Bulldogs now have a chance to get her with her taking a trip to StarkVegas this weekend.

LSU guard Janae Kent enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

LSU’s Janae Kent has entered her name into the transfer portal.

Kent appeared in 32 games in her one, and now only, season in Baton Rouge. That included a start in the SEC Championship against South Carolina.

She came off the bench in all but that one game. In that role, she averaged 1.6 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in under 10 minutes per game. In those outings, she shot 31.7% from the field, 13% from three, and 52.9% from the free-throw line.

Kent came in as part of a highly-recruited class for the Tigers last offseason. She came in alongside Mikaylah Williams, Aalyah Del Rosario, and Angelica Velez. Williams was the most successful of those freshmen while Del Rosario also played a role.

Now, Kent’s decision makes it three losses in the portal for LSU. Hailey Van Lith is the most significant of the three after one season as the point guard for the Tigers with averages of 11.6 points, 3.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. Velez, a fellow freshman with Kent, also entered earlier this week after appearing in 23 games.
