The suitors are already stacking up for Ohio State Buckeyes running back Dallan Hayden in the Transfer Portal.

According to Steve Wiltfong, the teams that have reached out to Hayden so far include Colorado, UCLA, Louisville, Auburn, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech.

“One of the most talented players in the transfer portal, former Ohio State RB Dallan Hayden says ‘Colorado, UCLA, Louisville, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech’ are the programs he’s heard from so far,” Wiltfong said.

Dallan Hayden played high school football at Christian Brothers (Tennessee), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 246 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Hayden spent two seasons at Ohio State. In his true freshman season, Hayden played in 10 games, amassing 111 carries for 553 yards and five touchdowns. Then, in 2023, he had 19 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown.

One of the most notable games he played in was the College Football Playoff semifinal against Georgia, which he started, and led the Buckeyes with nine carries for a team-high 43 yards.

The 2024 Ohio State Buckeyes have a stacked running back room. That includes returning star running back TreVeyon Henderson. Meanwhile, the team also added former Ole Miss star Quinshon Judkins in the transfer portal.

Dallan Hayden is the son of former Tennessee and NFL running back Aaron Hayden. Despite that, Tennessee is not among the programs to contact him to this point.

Dallan Hayden was confident in his role at Oho State

The Ohio State Buckeyes have a very deep running back room. Despite that, Dallan Hayden was confident in his role with the team throughout spring practice. In fact, as recently as a week before he entered the Transfer Portal, he expressed that confidence.

“I’m very confident,” Hayden said when asked about his role for 2024. “I know what I had to work on and I focused on that the whole offseason. And I feel like I’m doing better with those areas. So I’m very confident.”

Now, Hayden going to be moving on to a new school. Luckily for him, there appear to be plenty of suitors available for him to choose from.
