Transfer Portal Finale

UCLA offensive lineman Bruno Fina has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. Fina spent four seasons with the Bruins.

In the 2023 campaign, Fina made 13 appearances as the starting left tackle for the team. Fina was pivotal in guiding UCLA’s offense to lead the Pac-12 in rushing yards per game. The 6-foot-5 redshirt junior was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2023-24 Academic All-District Football Team.

In the prior three seasons, Fina’s time on the field was limited, making six total appearances. He did not see any game action during his true freshman season. He was also named to the Pac-12 2021-22 Fall Academic Honor Roll when he was a redshirt freshman.

Bruno Fina played high school football at Salpointe Catholic (AZ), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 891 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Fina is the 18th UCLA player to enter the transfer portal during or since the 2023 campaign. The team has also added 11 players via the portal, earning the No. 61 spot in On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

UCLA lands commitment from former UNLV offensive lineman

On Sunday, former UNLV offensive lineman Alan Makihele committed UCLA, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. Makihele spent the last four years with the Rebels, slowly emerging as a contributor along the line.

During his first two years on campus, Makihele failed to appear in a game, taking a redshirt for the 2020 season before being inactive in 2021.

He then played in six games in 2022 to earn his first letter, before playing in all 13 games for UNLV during the 2023 season. He should instantly provide some help for the Bruins along the interior of the offensive line.

Prior to enrolling at UNLV, Alani Makihele was a three-star recruit and the No. 1,965 overall prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checked in as the No. 130 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 1 overall player from the state of Alaska, hailing from Anchorage (AK) West.
