He is the No. 7 linebacker in the country and third-best layer from the state of Alabama. The only players ahead of him from the Yellowhammer State are Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson five-star EDGE Jeremiah Alexander and Hartford (Ala.) Geneva County five-star running back Emmanuel Henderson.
James was previously committed to Florida. His’ decommitment was the first of a flurry of Gators decommits that have happened over the last month. Buford (Ga.) four-star athlete Isaiah Bond, Houston Clear Lake four-star cornerback Julian Humphrey and Ocala (Fla.) Forest four-star wide receiver Jamarrien Burt have also decommitted during this time.
However, the Gators don’t appear to be out of the running as linebackers coach Christian Robinson visited James on Monday.
