If he is "real" then he will retire. If he is the carnival barker that he now appears to be...he stays. Do the right thing Cal. Call it a career.
Does Cal have enough character to resign?

Agreed. Have the stones to call it a day, Cal. You owe KY at least that much respect for the patience shown to you the last 7yrs.
Hell no. He will take some shots at BBN, say this team had no NCAAT experience, and then get ready for the draft and probably hyped up Sharpe. Then some will follow suit and act like no other coach can do what Cal has done the last handful of years.
I’d guess a big goose egg. But Cal already brought that BS up at halftime, so be ready to hear it again.
No, he won't retire. He is gutless no coaching sob who has taken our program to the furthest reaches of humiliation. I have not been this angry about a loss that I can remember.
We had the player of the year, also first team all American, two projected first round picks and a hall of fame coach and got beat by Saint Peters. They controlled the game, we couldn't hit jack again and couldn't hit free throws either, hell you can't beat anybody like that.
He has a $60 Million dollar buyout. Cal isn’t going anywhere.
He needs to recognize it's over it's done. No shame in realizing things have passed you by.
Cal has 0 equity right now. I get the buyout and understand the economics of it. But does he really want to keep this relationship when he and his family are actively at war with one of the biggest fanbases in the world? He said it himself, 10 years is a long time.
A bit too long if you ask most people.

Someone put a dead hooker in his trunk. Probably the only way we get rid of him.
Seriously though we are screwed unless he does the honorable thing and resigns.

There is no excuse for not calling a timeout on the last possession in regulation. I thought some of our players in the first place were playing scared, but this loss is totally on Cal.
No. 60 million reasons not to. Thanks for nothing Barney.
This cock sucker stood up there at the media time out and tried to tell us that kenpom 122 St. Peter’s was a good team. Any other top 5 seed would have won this game by double digits. He’s a piece of ****.
He would be crazy to retire. He’s going to get all the cash that he’s due in the contract. No one would be stupid enough to leave that money on the table. Not going to happen.
if he cares about UK and his legacy he would reach a reasonable financial agreement and start the ambassador role.
He never had it to begin with here. But hey, some people on this board have been trying to get thru to the masses for years.
Maybe this will finally be enough to push him out the door.
somehow
i for one, have had enough

He's not going anywhere for another couple years until that $1 million the rest of his life is fully vested and then maybe we'll get lucky.
Change that character word to money I’d bet if the mutual buyout is agreeable he becomes a fundraiser in Nashville
His UK Legacy is at risk

There has to be at least $60 million still sloshing around from the CARES Act.
No...he loves the money too much.
Y’all are buried in delusion. He’s still owed well over $60 million on his current contract. Not a chance in hell he simply “resigns” and walks away from that kind of money.
If you’ve a problem with it, then take it up with Mitch, he’s the guy who offered him that extraordinary contract.

The fan base is done with him. You've made enough money. It's time. Let's part ways and move forward
Not true. He loves KY fans except for a small segment of ‘special’ ones. He might have ‘special’ words for them.
