The fog of war was literally a pretty foggy battle,

Fire and ice. Arya got the job done, big 24 hours for her.

Yup. It was fantastic, but a little predictable. Major deaths have to come from Cersei and Co. to really rile you up. Those should be coming soon. I’m just not as emotionally invested in the zombie fights as I am with people south of the wall.

Phenomenal. The tension at the very beginning was awesomely done, then you throw in dragon fights, the night king, and a full hour and a half of nonstop dread. It was well worth the buildup

That was a great scene with Arya in the library too. You knew that she was going to run into a wight at some point, but the whole scene had your heart racing.

I haven’t gone back and watched GoT episodes over again very often, but I’ll be running through this one another time or two at some point this week

That was my take as well since just the one came back to guard D at the end.

I was also curious about Melisandre’s comment to Arya. When she asked her what they say to the god of death, was that a big reveal that she was somehow the trainer that taught Arya how to sword fight way back in season 1?

It doesn't make sense. It was total fan service.

If Titty Witch saw that Arya was going to kill the Night King back in the Riverlands, why did she go back to Stannis and continue declaring that Stannis would be the one to end the long night.

It was an incredible episode and one of the greatest acts of cinematography ever, but just felt a little lazy. The Dothraki version of Pickett's charge was stupid. Sam making it through was unbelievable. RIP Lyanna Mormont, the GOAT.

Why take the time to roll in the trebuchets just to launch 1 salvo into the enemy and leave the other 5 payloads just sitting there....and why not shoot dragon glass arrows at an immobile enemy after lighting the trenches on fire and easily within arrow shot? Don't get that, but it can't be perfect.

I don't want to pick apart the battle sequence in a fictional show, but the NK is a major plot point and I feel like they went girl power on us. They built this dude up for 10 years and he didn't swing his sword one time.

They could have had Arya, bran, theon, brienne, tormund, jorah, lyannah, grey worm, and a couple of dragons hold up in a castle and saved a lot of bloodshed. Dream team.

I agree, possibly the biggest moment in TV history but definitely don't want to overthink parts of the episode. I'm hoping there is a bigger point to Bran/NK storyline than what we got, which thankfully there is time left for that.

Hopefully D&D decide to not play it safe... I don't see them spending three episodes of them dealing with Cersei so think there is alot more to the NK storyline.

The stupidity of their tactics kinda ruined it for me. I got bored watching the mass vs mass fighting (same thing happened to me during the Battle of the Bastards). I liked it when they spent more than a second actually following a character(s). Still undecided on the Arya punks the NK. I think I might have like it better if she had ninja'd out of the heart tree straight onto the NK's head.

I was thinking the same, but there were a 17 load of wights. Even if they shot a bunch of them while they were standing, there was still a horde behind them.

The thing now is most of their army is wiped out to now go south.

I think yara is going to come in to play there in the end to help.

I do wish that there would have been more of a fight with the night king and other knights with him. There had to be more to them with the long hair.

There has to be more there with NK and bran. Had s feeling Arya was going to either end the dragon or night king.

Lyanna Mormont. Badass ending for her.

Still expected more to die than did.

Still think more will die next episode against Cersei. Where will Bronn come in? Will Jamie go back to his sister now?

Three episodes. Certainly all can’t be a battle. I’m guessing next episode is set up for next battle. Battle then last season is after battle of who is left and who is in the iron throne.

The Night King had a Kirby Smart gameplan

That ended like the last two UGA / Bama football games.

I will put this in spoiler just in case someone hasn't watched but OMFG WHAT AN EPISODE!!!

I might need nitro pills for the finale.

Gonna toot my own horn, I called who would kill the Night King and with what instrument before the season started.

But...... I was ready to give up on ANYONE killing him. What a great job of packing that much action and pacing it so well.

Now on to the Cercie.

FYI, did any of you catch the hints in the conversation between the Red woman and Arya?

He killed Theon, not a huge feat.

Very underwhelming tonight.

Arya Rocked it though!!

Thought it was pretty good, but a battle of that scale should have killed more main characters. It would have sucked, but it's getting close to the end, time to say goodbye, sorry.

Two quotes about Arya that I found on Facebook: It was said that no one could the night king, and so "no one" did. And the night king wasn't even on her list.

Yeah. The purposeful vagueness of Bran's "role" is a little confusing and disheartening.

If the combat tactics in a fictional show ruin your watching, then don’t ever watch anything fictional with combat because it’s never right. You just enjoy it for what it is.

It was far too clean. Methinks there will be more to this story in the end.

I hope so. The allure of the show was it's groundbreaking unpredictability. They've gone "chalk" way too much lately.

I agree. It was a good episode but I’m left feeling it could’ve left more of an impact. The only two notable deaths were Jorah and Theon, both of which were very predictable. I think we either needed a major death in there somewhere or a couple more deaths from mid-level characters.

For the NK to have been hyped so much over the years on a show like this, I feel like he should’ve done more. I was also disappointed by the fact that last week’s episode ended on the awesome shot of all those WW’s on horseback, and they did absolutely nothing.

There was a lot of good stuff in this episode, but it didn’t resonate with me a strongly as other GoT battle episodes have.

I agree with everything 615 said. That episode was such a letdown for me. Jon doesn’t even get to fight the NK? How the heck does Arya get past the circle of white walkers to kill the NK. Just such lazy writing. At least show how she was getting past them or let Jon have a fight with him and he escapes. Charging on the army while you have a castle to hide behind is so stupid.

I don't believe so, I'm pretty sure Syrio Forel was his own person and Melisandre is not a member of the Men of Many Faces.

She also mentions only meeting Arya once, when she told her she would defeat many people with many colored eyes, brown eyes, green eyes and....blue eyes. Eyes that will be sealed shut forever. Not the exact quote but along those lines. But it's what she was referencing last night to Arya as a little pep talk of sorts.

Brown Eyes = Walder Frey
Green Eyes = Cersei
Blue Eyes = Night King

Either they are setting it up for Arya to kill Cersei also, or it's been a long slow con they've pulled over several seasons.
