  Thanks again man for your help. I will probably put it out this afternoon. I took your advice on using Google Maps to figure out the square feet of my yard. It was pretty easy to do. All in all I'm at about 8,000 sq. ft.

  If you want to be sure, I would put about 2 teaspoons per 4 gallons and just give it a light treatment. it wont hurt the grass. The barricade does dissolve pretty well. What I usually do is add 2 gallons of water, then add all the chemicals, and then add the rest of the 2 gallons. I will shake the tank pretty good as well.

  Also, does the Barricade dissolve pretty well on its on and do you typically put the surfactant in last since it might make it kind of soapy?

  Thanks so much for the help man! I had been using a lawn company to do this stuff but what they were doing wasn't really helping to kill weeds with a post-emergence. After doing a good bit of research and y'alls help, I figured I could do it on my own, do a better job, and be more cost-effective. Only problem is that I may not be able to do this pre-emerge until the Spring. The lawn company I used was terrible and so was their communication. They ended up coming out unannounced the other day when I was at work and left a note on the door saying that had sprayed a pre-emerge. I have since cut ties with them and told them not to come back out, but I'm kind of scared to put down the Barricade since they already sprayed a pre-emerge (although I don't have much confidence that theirs will work well). They didn't specify what kind they put down though. Would it be too much strain on the grass to put down my pre-emerge as well you think?

  I do two teaspoons per gallon. So for your 4 gallon sprayer use 8 teaspoons. If you go a little more it wont hurt the grass at all so i tend to go on the higher side just to be sure. Yeah I usually just sweep across it. Basically get about 1 gallon of liquid per 1k sq ft. Dont get frustrated the first time or two you do it. You will get better after the first couple of times. I would water it in the next day just to get some of the dye color down and to make sure the product gets in the soil.

  Okay thank you for the tips. I will try using Google Earth. I actually figured you meant that. Okay, so just to verify...1.5 teaspoons per 1 gallon of water? And that one gallon of water should be good for about 1,000 square feet? When you use your sprayer, you are just doing a light sweep across the grass and not going back and forth right?

  Yep you're all set then. All that stuff will last you years. I meant google earth but I think maps will still let you measure distances so you could use either. Couple of tips make sure you wear rubber gloves and mix the stuff up in the tank on the lawn or somewhere other than concrete. That blue dye stuff is SUPER concentrated. Wear old clothes too

  Okay, sorry to bug you and forgive my ignorance, but what do the ounces translate to in teaspoons/tablespoons per gallon of water. I bought a Chapin 4-gallon backpack sprayer to put it out with. But I really don't know the square footage of my yard to be able to calculate how much I need
