It really went beyond the point of just being annoying a long, long time ago. Someone needs to retire him permanently

I keep thinking some sound engineer will write a piece of code to filter out the frequency range of their whistles and sell it to SECN for a few bucks. Would it really be that difficult to do?

Not trying to be mean spirited. But okay with a foul ball to his vocal chords. Accidents occasionally happen. J/K of course. Sit right behind him and never stop ringing your cowbell. And if he says something tell him you will stop if he stops, forever!

I hereby start the Kickstarter project to create an audio filter to remove the audio frequency of the Whistler from TV and radio broadcasts.

An MSU student needs to design this.

I don't know how easy it would be but its got to be possible. My work headset has some pretty good background noise filtering. I can't imagine it would be that much different to implement.

With all the other annoying rules the SEC has, I wish they'd find a way to shut them up. Cowbells are sweet music... :)

It would be the easiest thing in the world to get rid of. The league needs to implement a rule that allows removal from events based on “any prolonged activity that: distracts, compromises the integrity of the event, offends by noxious odors, is based on excessive noise not standard for the event, and any other activity that lessens the game day experience for fellow spectators. Enforcement of the rule will be left with a designated school official.” No more whistler.

And that could also apply to cowbells. Presumably the guy isn't using an artificial noisemaker, so there's not much that can be done about him, from a rules standpoint.

This is a little bit like golf though ... continuous crowd noise doesn't bother a golfer, but a single camera click can disrupt a swing. If everybody was whistling, it might not even be noticed.

I suppose it could, absent a clause that says otherwise. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to a State baseball game, but I don’t ever remember the cowbells being obnoxious. Isn’t the cowbell more of a football thing? In any case, if you leave enforcement of the rule with a school official, it would at least shitcan him at road games. Maybe no more cowbells at away games, but I think everyone would be okay with that to get rid of the whistler. He ruins games.

I posed the question on another board but how small can a meteorite be without causing much damage? Are we talking peanut size? Green Pea? If there was a way to watch him disintegrate, I’d pay good money.

I can’t decide what’s worse. Being that scumbag or being a person who chooses to sit near him and would take up for him.

Talk about having to be the dumbest hobby ever. I bet he gives a mean *** mustache ride, however.

As far as I know, it's just a football thing. I haven't been to a baseball game in years.

Dumbasses, you all do realize this is the sentiment that Shug Jordon used in 1974 to get cowbells banned in the SEC? We should be that guy's biggest defenders, or at least just grin in bear the few time we have to deal with it.

We need several fans to hock a loogey, hold in their mouths until they get a chance to walk down the aisle in front of and/or behind him then, "accidentally" sneeze on him...apologizing profusely every time. Have someone recording on a cell phone just in case he eventually gets abusive, so it can be turned into security, PD and the SEC offices.

Could also "accidentally" drop drinks, hot dogs overloaded with mustard, etc.

It’s the only time I’m thankful for hearing loss from years of working around machinery and thousands of rounds of ammunition fired. I can’t hear him! It must be awful as much as everyone bitches about him.

I understand your point but there is a distinction...

One or two people constantly ringing a cowbell at a baseball game would be just as annoying. By the same token 10k people whistling at a football game would not be a big deal.

Nobody is ringing a bell constantly at a baseball game. The whistler and 10k like him are welcome to whistle away at football games.

He needs to shut the hell up at baseball games.

There appears to be no one who enjoys the whistling other than the two idiots doing it.

I blame it on the sad state of our mental health systems in this country. These guys woulda been sent to Whitfield in a jiffy back in the day.

My buddy is working security at game. He sent me a Snapchat pic of the whistler. He’s in a black Vandy decked-out wheelchair. Do whatever you need to with that information.

There is a small contingent of Vandy fans that clap along with him. I guess Manson had followers as well. Other than that you are correct sir, I have read several articles that talk about most Vandy fans hate it like most rational people.

I had to change the channel as well. Both because it was annoying me and because my dogs were going nuts from it.
