What was he ranked coming out of high school? Or did they even do rankings at that point? Genuinely curious. I can’t remember Kentucky ever landing a top ten national recruit.

I wouldn’t get too excited yet. He’s class of 28. Nowadays it’s damn near customary for top recruits to flip their commitment at least once in their last years of HS.

I’ll be psyched about this one when I see him actually wearing blue.

I’m about positive Couch was the #1 player in the nation and was breaking national passing records while doing so. I know DJ was either 1 or 2 but I’m pretty sure Couch was #1 and we almost lost him to Tenn.

Yep. Couch was pretty much the unanimous #1 player. He was named Gatorade and USA Today national player of the year.

Yeah, people thought he was gonna be like our Reggie White when he committed to UK. Didn’t quite work out that way.

Of course there were also a few folks who thought his son was gonna be like our Steph Curry. That sure didn’t work out either.
