Over the half way point now.. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like there is some true parity this season across the board.. Yes, you have your teams that are still at the top; however, it feels different - I think this has been a good thing.

Class A: Bennington (5-0) at Kearney (4-1)
- Bennington keeps winning, Kearney a proven winner already (in A). I think this one has the likes of a really big time game. At Kearney probably matters, some... Bennington might be the 3rd best team, though, in class A, behind Millard South and Westside. This may prove that.
Bennington: 27 - Kearney 24

Class B: Gretna (5-0) at Waverly (4-1)
- Gretna East got the big, bad Vikings by 1 a couple of weeks ago... The Dragons? Well they got those Griffons by 22 or something similar. Doesn't bode well for Waverly. But, there are no guarantees in HSFB.. Waverly is still Waverly.
Waverly: 31 - Gretna: 28

Class C1: For the first time in "Game of the Week" history - I have no pick. I think every favored team wins across the board. Sorry C1.

Class C2: Fremont Bergan (5-0) at Wahoo Neumann (5-0)
- C2, similar to C1 this week, doesn't have a lot going on either.. Except for this one. Only implications are potential seeding in the playoffs but both of these teams have been going about their business this season and have really, really, good teams. Late into November type of teams, maybe.. Bergan fire power is top notch. Neumann is steady as she goes. Quality match up. Similar strength of schedules to this point.
Fremont Bergan: 32 - Neumann: 24

Class D1: Elmwood-Murdock (4-1) at Exeter-Milligan-Friend (4-1)
- Best matchup on the schedule for this week. EMF is going to win, and perhaps it'll be convincingly, but best match up I can find.
EMF: 40 - Elmwood-Murdock: 22

Class D2: North Platte St. Patrick's (5-0) at Hitchcock County (5-0) / Shelby-Rising City (5-0) at Nebraska City Lourdes (4-1)
- We'll go with a 2'fer in class D2 since we skipped C1.. Two really good match ups with 4 quality teams. One from the west and one from the east. I like that, reminds me back from when the best from the west played the best from the east for a title and everyone would fight about one side being harder than the other.
North Platte St. Pats: 38 - Hitchcock County: 36
Shelby Rising City: 44 - Lourdes: 28

Class D3: Blue Hill (3-2) at Cambridge (4-1)
- 2 or 3 big ones this week it appears.. Wynot vs Wausa & Southern Valley vs Pleasanton could have just as easily been selected. But, ultimately, going with BH vs Cam. These two teams haven't received much media attention this year, just quietly doing their thing at 4-1 and 3-2 respectively. Blue Hill with 3 wins so far this year, already +1 from a year ago. Cambridge, not really tested, sitting at 4-1 with the lone loss to Dundy County Stratton. Should be a quality game. A big game for BH if they can find a way to grind it out - the same team that nearly beat Pleasanton last week. A chance for Cambridge to prove that they belong, as well. Go ahead and give me Wynot and Pleasanton as well.
Blue Hill: 36 - Cambridge: 26

Oh come on....no Norfolk Catholic/Pierce selection??? Not that it will be a good game but just the rivalry over the years.

Riverside at Stuart. Six man battle in top 10
That should be a good one. I know nothing about 6-man football or their communities; however, I've seen that maybe the parity mentioned above goes all the way down to them as well. Should be an exciting few weeks down the stretch.

Maybe this isn't the right thread for this but seen the word parity tossed out. I know there is more parity between the D classes than what there has been but looking at power points by class D1 has a district with only one team above .500 D2 has a district with no teams above .500 D3 has a district with one team above .500.

That's a fair point, and I don't know how to avoid that, there are some tougher districts than others. With it being regionally based, I feel like that's just sort of out of the NSAA hands.. I really meant that there's several teams that could potentially win a state title in each class - which is nice to see.

I did. That is why I said that. If you want a score, Pierce 48. NC 7. Running clock second half
Good luck to your Bluejays....always like when they spout off before the game...hope something crazy doesn't happen! And I would be concerned if I was a Pierce fan and it wasn't as bad as you say.
