11% is a big drop. We had Texas-OSU and Texas-Tennessee, LSU-Ole Miss, I dunno what to think.Looking for alternative explanations, other than just overall viewer apathy ... are there fewer marquee matchups this year than last year? To me it seems that way, but I don't really have anything substantive to back that up.
AttaboyVirginia Tech games usually air on the hard-to-find ACCSN.
Hey, @Tor_Eckman I only the other day figured where your board handle comes from! Lol.I have not watched any CFB this season. Stopped watching the NFL after 2019.
Yep ... just thinking out loud for alternative explanations.11% is a big drop. We had Texas-OSU and Texas-Tennessee, LSU-Ole Miss, I dunno what to think.

Last year, Week 1 alone was #1 Texas v. #3 OSU, #9 LSU v. #4 Clemson and #6 ND v. #10 Miami ... plus #8 Bama v. UR FSU.
I have no idea if fewer games were on "Nielsen Rated" stations this year, or even what qualifies as a "Nielsen Rated" station ... of if, perhaps, more people are watching on ESPN+ or other digital platforms that don't qualify (or perhaps they do).
Actually, today’s student would pprobably buy the ticket for the “experience”If you were a student, would you spend $65 on a ticket, or your time watching the game on TV, when you could spend the $65 on beer, liquor and some dorm bed sleaze you could bounce around with?
One could also come here and watch tsitsee baby69 stalk varied posters who beat him down here and elsewhere with laughing emoji.

You need to get off of hot water.Hey, @Tor_Eckman I only the other day figured where your board handle comes from! Lol.

Don’t forget the highly motivating, crowd pumping Blue Band renditions of Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables! Makes me want to run through a wall!
Down 11% compared to last year.
Roger that. Hopefully it’ll improve my hearing, thanks so much. You need to get off of hot water.
That's 3 big games11% is a big drop. We had Texas-OSU and Texas-Tennessee, LSU-Ole Miss, I dunno what to think.
That's 3 big games
And LSU-Ole Miss and even Texas-Tennessee are regional games
We have another week this weekend in which there's almost no big games--Iowa/Ohio State...maybe?
I hate Notre Dame but last September they played Miami and A&M--that's a huge loss for the networks this year when Michigan State has been their big game
It's not that "no one will tune in" but especially in September you don't get huge ratings for bad non-conference gamesOSU Texas did gangbusters. Think someone said one of the best ratings numbers ever. But even that cannot carry the rest of the dead weight. Anymore, if not two top teams, no one will tune in. And I think you’ll see more top match ups lose steam as well.

Swag surfin . Dr. Drane likes to bring some HBCU flair. That’s all I got Bob.I was in the Blue Band, but yes, some new material once in a while would be nice.

If your team is #24, do you sit out and wait for the draft? Serious question.24 team playoff >>>> 12 or 16 team playoff with CCGs
The NFL doesn't care about players opting out of a bowl game--no one should--it's a reward not a meaningful competition. A playoff is different. If your team is #24, do you sit out and wait for the draft? Serious question.
A 24 team playoff will always have the last seeded team as a team from the Group of 6MAC say what? More likely a mid tier ACC and again why would you play if you are draftable?

You do realize round 1 would be #9 vs #24, right?Round 1 playoff game:

#24 in the current system is going to be a MAC or Sun Belt team--they're not opting out
We've yet to see a starter opt out of a playoff game--we never will. We've only ever seen one contributor leave and when I talk about him people get mad so let's just say you need someone either too dumb to understand the rules or too emotion to make a rational decision for it to even be an issue with depth.
