Cork told Tate that he was taking a job in Texas, and Tate told him not to let the door hit him where the good lord split him, and the day he told him would be his last day. They paint it to look like retirement, to let everybody save face. Just had a 4 person Teams meeting with him week before last, on a large project

I had to laugh…

My retirement from the state to accept a non-PERS position didn’t make my supervisors react in that manner.

I’d let folks know that I was looking for a change of scenery, and Cork couldn’t do something similar given the importance of his role…

His new job didn't start until January and he wanted to stay on at MDA until the new job started but Tate told him to hit the road now.

FYI, Texas has 473 gigawatts of data center electricity demand pending. Mississippi has between 10 and 15 gigawatts of DC electricity demand pending. Looks like Texas is doing well enough without Mr. Cork.
