No but the SEC referees ignored Bama players flagrantly holding, ripping our players helmets off, defensive holding, throwing our players to the ground away from the ball, and a score of other things. I’m not saying we could have beaten Alabama because we couldn’t with the turnovers but they weren’t going to leave it to chance.

I’ve never been one to use the obvious bias of the referees as an excuse, it’s just part of the game but I was there in person as I’ve been many years in the past. I’ve never seen more flagrant punches thrown, helmets ripped off, and pushing and shoving after the whistle by Alabama players than I saw today. The thing is most of it was away from the ball and probably not visible on TV. The refs just swallowed their whistle and watched. I always begrudgingly respected what Saban did but his teams weren’t dirty. What I saw today puts Bama in the same category as Tennessee for me.
